How about a smoking hot prosciutto- and squacquerone-filled piadina delivered to you by drone?
[For those of you not familiar with piadina (or piada), it is a thin flatbread typical of Romagna, made with white flour, lard or olive oil, salt and water, and usually filled with prosciutto, squacquerone or stracchino cheeses, and arugula.]
For now it is just a fun idea shown in a video to promote Airframes, a company specializing in aerial photography. In the video, a man (il bagnino, the lifeguard) is seen on the beach in Rimini, land of the piadina romagnola, placing a call to a piadina restaurant to make his order as he shovels sand. The restaurant employee tells him the piadina will be delivered “al volo” (immediately, but in Italian “volo” means flight – pun intended). The drone carrying the piadina flies over the port of Rimini and quickly delivers the order.
Just a fun idea for now, but we bet it is not too far-off from reality.
