Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana has just added another award to its long list of accolades: at the prestigious San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards, held last night in London, it was crowned third best restaurant in the world, keeping the same ranking it had last year.
Considered the Oscars of fine dining, the awards were presented late Monday at a ceremony in central London attended by some of the world's leading chefs, including Bottura himself.
Located in Modena, Osteria Francescana has a three-star rating by the Michelin Red Guide, and was recently awarded the “Nobel of gastronomy,” the White Guide Global Gastronomy Award 2014.
In the top 50 are two other Italian restaurants, Enrico Crippa’s Piazza Duomo, located in Alba (Piedmont), coming in at No. 39, and Massimiliano Alajmo’s Le Calandre in Sarmeola di Rubano (Padua) at No. 46.
