It took three days and 70 kg of gelato, but Italian confectioners at the International Exhibition of Ice Cream managed to set the Guinness record for World’s Largest Ice Cream Cone.
The giant gelato measured in at over 2.8 meters tall. The cone alone was made up of over 2,000 wafers and 700 kg of white chocolate to coat the inside. 5 scoops of gelato, weighing in at a total of 70 kg, were then placed on top.
The team of 7 experts needed 30 hours to complete the giant ice cream cone. The gelato specialists worked in a transparent room that was chilled to -20 degrees to keep the ingredients from melting.
An official Guinness World Record judge traveled to Rimini from London to certify the gargantuan dessert, officially declaring it the World’s Largest Ice Cream Cone.
