Bordano (Friuli Venezia Giulia)

Bordano is a town in the Province of Udine, in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The town is situated at 224 meters of altitude, right of the Tagliamento River. Bordano is known as the “town of the butterflies” because of the various species of Lepidoptera presence in late spring. Around the town on the walls, there are hundreds of murals representing diverse themes, especially butterflies. Bordano hosts the House of Butterfly with over a thousand butterflies from all over the world fly freely in the three large greenhouses of the park, mimic the climatic conditions of the Amazon Rainforest, of the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia and of the African Jungle.
